Interests
Growing up bilingual there were certain times where it worked against me, especially during my childhood. But as the years go by I find being bilingual has opened so many doors and opportunities for me. I have made so many connections with those who speak only Spanish and I continue to learn new phrases or ways to express myself through Spanish.

So when I entered Baruch College I was interested in learning a new language. I decided to study Japanese and enrolled in my first Japanese class during my second semester at Baruch. I am now in my second year of learning Japanese. Japanese is challenging but that’s why I like it so much. Every time I step out of the class I learn something new.

Japanese class has not only taught me a new language, but new ways to study and to step out of my comfort zone. I hope to continue to learn this language and other languages as well.

Hobbies
A huge hobby of mine is reading books and checking out bookstores. There is a certain feel of accomplishment when I finish reading books. So far this year I have liked reading thriller or fantasy genre books. My friends and I sometimes read a book together and meet once a week. It's like having our own book club. Once in a while I do like to read non-fiction books.
The most recent bookstore I have visited was Soho Housing Works that can be seen on your left. I like to visit bookstores just to window shop and check what new book has come out. Maybe see if they have any books on sale that are on my wish list.
